Blairsville, GA – Mona Lee MacDonald Hackney, 86, passed away April 1, 2024 at her daughter's residence in Clyo, GA.

The Rhode Island native was of the Methodist faith.  She retired from the Banking and Insurance Industry.  She was involved with Rhode Island Grange for over 60 years, was a 4-H leader, enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, and was a great cook.  She spent a major part of her life at Wemacs Farm raising, training, and riding horses.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stuart K. MacDonald and Marjorie Palmer Briggs MacDonald; her husband, Darrell J. Hackney; her brother, Stuart (Stook) MacDonald; and her great-grandson, Jay Knox.

Survivors include her children, Gardiner Salisbury, Kathryn Lewis, and Sharon Hisey; sisters, Joan Eckler and Jean martin; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
