Rincon-Ms. Mozelle L. Berne, 95, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Effingham Hospital.
Ms. Berne was born in Thunderbolt to the late William S. & Ollie S. Lee. She was a member of First Alliance Church, retired from the Chatham County Police Department and was a member of the Peace Officers Association of Georgia. Mrs. Berne was also preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
Survivors include two daughters and a sons-in-law, Parilee Ruckman & John (deceased) of Rincon and Barbara Helen Johnson & Bud of San Marcos, CA; son and daughter-in-law, Hubert C. & Wanda Berne of Kent, WA; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim.
She was greatly loved by all who knew her and she will be missed by all. "I am God's child and I know where I'm going when I leave this place" was one of her favorite sayings.
