M/SGT Daniel M. "Cowboy" Thomas
M/SGT Daniel M."Cowboy" Thomas, 68, died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
The Charleston, SC native graduated high school in 1967 from Hiram W. Johnson in Sacremento, California and enlisted in the military shortly after graduation. He was a US Air Force Vietnam veteran with serving two tours and served the rest of his military career in the 165th Georgia Air National Guard. He had worked for many years with Intermarine and General Crane and Hoist. He worked hard all his life and always made sure his family was taken care of. He was a member of the Clyo Masonic Lodge #280 and had been a member of the Alee Temple Shriners. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, G.W. and Virginia Thomas.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Thomas; children, Christina Thomas, Tracy L. Ross (Bill), Kim Duncan, and Tom Duncan (Jamie); 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Michael Newell (Richard) and Emily Billingsley (Russ); several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 am Thursday, June 1, 2017 in the funeral home chapel.
Interment: Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors and Masonic rites.
