Mrs. Nancy George Hammond, 79, of Bloomingdale, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at The Oaks at Pooler.

Nancy was born in Miami, Florida and had lived in Bloomingdale for many years.  She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Beatty George and Alice Keller George, husband Walter E. Hammond, Sr., sister Judith A. George, and niece Georgann Graves.  Nancy was a very active member of Alpha Methodist Church in Bloomingdale and she retired from the Chatham County Board of Education.  She enjoyed watching the birds eat out of her feeders, spending time with her dog Foxy, but most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She had a beautiful soul and will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her children Donald N. Rushing (Lorie), Rebecca R. Dillbeck (Greg), and Andrew F. Rushing (Donna); grandchildren Brittany DePuy (Anthony), Dalton Rushing, Thomas Dillbeck, Tanner Rushing and nephew Bryan Graves.

The visitation will be on Monday, April 22, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  The funeral to honor Nancy's life will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Keller Cemetery off of Highway 30 in Port Wentworth, Georgia.
