Springfield – Nancy Ellen Wells Collins, 71, passed away September 11, 2022 at her residence.

Born in Louisa, KY, she moved to Georgia in the 80's.  She was loved by anyone blessed to know her.  First and foremost she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She made a point to show God's love to all.  She loved family, friends, animals, and flowers.  If a flower was wilted she could make it grow, she had a green thumb like no other.  If an animal was hungry she fed it.  If someone needed help she was there.  She leaves so many behind with broken hearts and sorrow but her memories are always with us, so she's never truly absent.  Nancy is simply gone ahead waiting to see us again one day on the banks of the Jordan.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Springfield and was preceded in death by her father, Russell Wells; and sister-in-law, Kay Wells.

She is survived by her husband of almost 21 years, Jerry Collins of Springfield, GA; her mother, Mrs. Nora Wells of Louisa, KY; her brothers, Dr. John Wells (Lavada) of Indiana and Bob Wells (Cathi) of Louisa, KY; her son, Gene McKenzie (Kelley) of Midway; her daughter, Rachel McKenzie Powell (Bob) of Midway, GA; four grandchildren, Brandon McKenzie (Mikayla), Nathan McKenzie (Heather), Austin McKenzie, and Addison Powell; great-grandmother to 3 with #4 coming soon; also extended family and friends; and her beloved dog, "Bodie".

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Springfield with funeral services following at 11 a.m.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Daniel Baptist Church Cemetery in Richmond Hill.
