Mrs. Nell Jean Holland Stokes, 91, of Old River Road, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at The Oaks of Pooler.
Mrs. Nell was born in Cobbtown, GA to the late Harvey Jordan Holland & Mollie Lettie Green Holland. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James R. "Bo" Stokes, Sr., sisters, Louise Holland and Vera Owens, brothers, Clisby, Vernon, Donald, & Bobby Holland. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.
Survivors include her children, Doris Stokes Hammock (Gordon), James Robert Stokes, Jr. (Linda), and Rosemary Stokes; grandchildren, Duane Hammock, Kelly Hammock (Tricia), Brandi Crawford (Jim), Glenn Stokes (Heidi), Dr. Joseph Overstreet (Kalon), Angel Greer (Michael), and Nic Richey; great-grandchildren, Wesley Hammock (Laura), Trey Hammock, Jordan Hammock, Daniel Hammock, JAC Coffelt, Simon Coffelt, James Robert Stokes, III, Brinley Stokes, Samera Overstreet, Baer Overstreet, Maddie Greer, Jacob Greer, Sully Greer, and Brylee Richey; great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Miles, Charlotte, and River; sisters and brother-in-law, Dorothy Stokes, Charles & Marion Stokes, Earl & Shirley Stokes, as well as a number of beloved nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Sunday, March 28th from 1 until 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Rev. David Riddle will officiate and the great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
All CDC and social distancing guidelines will be in place including the wearing of masks (Chatham County Mandate)
