Port Wentworth-Mrs. Nila Ree Crosby Brown passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Hospice Savannah surrounded by her loving family members.
Mrs. Brown was born on November 25, 1928 in Groveland, Georgia to Charles and Ada Miles Crosby. She lived in Groveland during her childhood and after her marriage to Jordan William Brown, she lived in Eden, Georgia. She moved to Port Wentworth in 1959 where she lived the remainder of her life.
Mrs. Brown was a charter member of the Garden City Primitive Baptist Church and still loved attending church there and had many friends. She most enjoyed times when her family gathered at "home" to be with her.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ada Miles Crosby; her husband, Jordan William Brown; a son, Jordan Calvin Brown; daughters, Sheila Annette Brown Davis and Sandra Gail Brown; granddaughter, Cynthia Leola Brown and her brother, C.L. Crosby.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her sons, Charles Robert Brown, Sr. (Diana) and William Joseph Brown (Mary); grandchildren, Calvin Tracy Brown (Beverly), Charles Robert Brown, Jr. (Andrea), Joseph Ryan Brown (Kari), William Coty Brown, Lee Lane Brown, Eddie Green Morris (Krys) and Kimberly Michelle Morris; great-grandchildren, Amanda Renee Brown, Cynthia NicCole Brown, Lillian Marie Brown, Margo Pollyanna Morris and Taylor Michelle Morris; great-great-grandson, Steven Gagne. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved as well as son-in-law, Elder Richard Davis, who she referred to as her "son", and daughter-in-law, Polly Handy Brown Morris.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 10 a.m. on Friday in the chapel of the funeral home.
