Mrs. Nokoleta L. Newman, age 89 of Bloomingdale, passed away October 6, 2017. She was born in Bulloch County and achieved a 32-year perfect attendance record in Sunday School at First Baptist Church Bloomingdale. Nokoleta was preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, John William Newman, Jr. Survivors include her daughters, Lenell Watson, of Bloomingdale, Patricia Willis, of Ellabell, Harriet (David) Ambrose, of Clyo; son, John William (Ruth) Newman, III, of Guyton; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, 1:30 - 3:00 PM at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home - West Chatham Chapel. The funeral service will begin Sunday afternoon at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Pastors Darrell Bailey and Jason Rowe officiating. Interment will follow at Ash Branch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
