Norma Maulden Exley
Clyo – Norma Maulden Exley, 94, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Memorial Health.
She was a longtime member of Springfield United Methodist Church, the W.S.C.S., U.M.W., Bible Studies Sunday School Class, former Sunday School Superintendent for the Children's Dept., church hostess, choir member, and vacation Bible School director. She was a homemaker and School Bus driver, wonderful mother, loving and caring grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Hendley and Margaret McLamb Maulden; her husband of 62 ½ years, Mell M. Exley, whom she would have celebrated her 75th wedding anniversary on November 11; sisters, Aris Bragg and Berma Usher.
Survivors include her daughters, Caryl and Rev. Madison Morgan, Denese and Jimmy Parker, and Rhonda and Thomas Edwards all of Clyo; grandchildren, Traci Morgan, Tami and Mitch Stafford, Kerri Morgan, Allen and Marcy Parker, Alisia and Eric Epperson, Aaron and Tiffany Parker, Shana and Derrick Downs; great-grandchildren, Seth and Caleb Stafford, Chelli Morgan, Emma Grace and Shane Epperson, James and Cason Parker, Mason Brant, Dean Parker, and Scotty Allen; her brother, Barquell Maulden of Springfield; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Springfield United Methodist Church. Mrs. Exley will lie in state from 3 p.m.
Interment will follow in Springfield Cemetery.
