Mr. Norman Leroy Johnson “Storman Norman”, 92, of Pooler, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Hospice Savannah.
Norman will be missed by his wife, Mae Jean Johnson; children, Max Johnson and Wanda Johnson Lanning (Robert); step-children, Andrew Chester (Cathy), Ronald Chester (Lori), Wayne Chester (Bonnie) and Lynn Smith; grandchildren, Ricky Verriest, Miles Erickson, Deanna Erickson, Jason Johnson, and Jessica Johnson; step-grandchildren, Matthew Chester, Sarah Lewis, Kate Sexton, Ashley Warren, Emily Chester, Bridgett Smith, and Jessica Chester; great-grandchildren, Micah Erickson, Milee Erickson, Savannah Johnson, and Little Max Johnson; fourteen step-great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Dick Collins, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Norman was born in Michigan and served his country in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie May Johnson; a daughter, Dawn Erickson; parents, Charles Robert Johnson, Sr. and Mary Burger Ecklerd; brother, Charles Robert Johnson, Jr. Norman was an ordained minister who loved Jesus and his church family at Life Spring Worship Center. He was a gifted mechanic who enjoyed working with his hands.
The visitation will be on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral to honor Norman’s life will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery near Metter, Georgia.
