Ellabell-Mrs. Ola E. Way, 82, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Mrs. Way was born in Charleston, WV and moved to Savannah at an early age. She enjoyed family, friends, and her little dogs, Dora & Clifford, sewing and cooking. She made the best sweet tea and fried chicken ever. This little woman was everybody's "Grandma", related or not, and was loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Bertha Dixon; sisters, Grovie Martin, Nola Harden and Goldie Kidd; brother, Earl Dixon; daughter, Wanda K. Menius and her husband, Earl J. Way, Sr.
She is survived by her sons, Fred L. Ramsey of Ellabell, Douglas A. Ramsey of Richmond Hill and Earl J. Way, Jr. of Bloomingdale; daughters, Judith A. Mock of Ellabell and Angela D. Walls of Rincon; 7 granddaughters; 9 grandsons; 31 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to thank Hospice Savannah for the care given to Mrs. Ola.
The visitation was on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral to celebrate Mrs. Ola's life was on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Kenny Harrelson officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
