Olivia Exley Weitman
Springfield- Olivia Exley Weitman, age 95, passed away on October 9, 2015 at Effingham Extended Care Center.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She retired from the Effingham County Board of Education where she worked in the cafeteria at Springfield Elementary School. Her favorite part of this job was seeing the children each day. She enjoyed working in her yard and growing pretty flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Meldrim and Hattie Helmly Exley; her husband, Herman Weitman; a daughter, Carol Ann Weitman and an infant daughter.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchell and Joy Weitman, Spencer and Donna Weitman, and Randy and Brenda Weitman; six grandchildren & spouses, Amy and Trey Strickland, Jon Weitman, Amanda and Geoffrey Weiter, Carol Ann Weitman, Colby Weitman and Sarah Weitman; and six great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Effingham Care Center for their kind and compassionate care.
Visitation: 1-2:30 pm Tuesday, October 13, 2015 in the funeral home.
Funeral: 3 pm Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Interment: Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery
