Ollie Mae Brannen Nease Zipperer

Guyton – Ollie Mae Brannen Nease Zipperer, born December 17, 1924 in Bullock County, died
peacefully in her sleep on March 12, 2015 at the Effingham County Extended Care Facility, Springfield,
GA, the most caring place a family could ever ask for. Thank each one of you for the care and love for
'Miss Ollie'. We will forever be grateful to each of you.

From Bulloch County, she moved to Savannah, then to Effingham County in 1954 for the remainder of
her 90 years. Now, given her profession of faith that she had accepted Jesus as her personal Savior,
she has moved on to Heaven. She was a member of Bethesda Methodist Church and later, Zion Lutheran Church where she was there every time the doors were open!! She had a great love of children, worked in Bible School and with the Cub Scouts for many years. Along with being a wonderful wife and mother, she stayed quite busy with various jobs through the years: drove a laundry route, a school bus (quite a disciplined bus requiring respect from her riders!), worked in the lunch room at Marlow Elementary School and worked in the family business. She loved her garden. She would often say she felt closest to the Lord when she was picking butter beans. And when she put a meal on the table, you were really glad she liked gardening! Later in life it was her lawn mower that was her lifesaver. Cutting grass and picking up fallen moss and limbs were her reasons to get up and get out each morning. She absolutely loved it.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Donnie "Arnie" and Ollie Hagan Brannen, stepmother, Eunice Brannen, brothers, William Franklin "Dub", Lehman "Lee", Wilbur Arnold "Bo", infant sisters, Mildred Lucile and Irma Jean, and an infant brother, and husbands, Albert Urias Nease (1962) and Bartow Shadrack Zipperer, Sr. (2006).

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Nease Woodbury, and husband, Troy Woodbury of
Lawrenceville, GA, her sons, Glenn Albert Nease and wife, Deborah, of Lockhart, TX, and Bartow
Shadrack Zipperer, Jr. and wife, Sharon, of Guyton, and eight grandchildren, Blake Woodbury,
Kimberly Woodbury Smith, Lauren Nease, Andrew Nease, Jarred Zipperer, Eric Zipperer, Shelby
Zipperer and Anna Nease, and four great-grandchildren, Tyler Woodbury, Kendall Woodbury, Connor
Smith and Addison Smith. She is also survived by her two sisters, Ann Brannen Spivey, Brooklet, GA,
and Jean Brannen Perry, Gainesville, TX and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral
Home Effingham Chapel.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Monday, March 16, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church.

Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be sent to Zion Lutheran Church, Land and/or Building Fund, 121
