Olvid Carl Edwards, "BO", of Guyton, GA, was born in Appling County Georgia to Ernest and Dicie (Tillman) Edwards on February 23, 1936. He passed away in his home on June 2, 2013 at 8:00 pm after a long bout fighting congestive heart failure for many months.
He was a 1954 graduate of Savannah High School then earned a Bachelor of Science at the University of Georgia's School of Forestry in 1961. He served two years in the US Army from 1958-1959 after being drafted during a leave of absence from UGA to help the family after his mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He spent his entire professional career in forestry and the hardwood veneer business.
Bo is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy, brothers, Dwain of Pooler, GA, and Reggie of Baxley, GA, and sister, JoAnn Eason of Baxley, GA. He is preceded in death by one sister, Marlene Buffkin of Baxley, GA.
He leaves behind his son, Scott of Hermitage, PA, and daughter, Deanne Wobrock and son-in-law Randy of Guyton, GA, along with six grandchildren; Brooke, 25, Kailey, 16, Brayton, 15, twins Britney and Brandi, 14, and Ashlee, 13. All six grandchildren loved their "Papa" very much as well as the entire family and wonderful friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
