Guyton-Mr. Orvis Marshall Hughes, 67, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Hospice Savannah.
Mr. Hughes was born in Savannah and was preceded in death by his father, Orvis Jason Hughes; his mother, Kathleen Joyner Combs; his step-father, Scranton James Combs, and his brother, Glenn Hughes. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force, and was of the Baptist faith. He loved his grandchildren, and the Georgia Bulldogs. He was an avid sports memorbilia collector, and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Hughes; children, Sasha & Chris Carter, Shannon & Sandra Hughes, Barry & Glenda Criswell, and Paul & Valerie Hughes; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Cindy Hopkins, Jan Brantley, and Kathy Caine, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 12 noon on Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Effingham Memorial Gardens.
