FAULKVILLE: Mr. Oscar Clayton Criswell, Sr., 84, died Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at his residence.
The Appling county native was a member of Bloomingdale First Baptist Church and retired from Union Camp were he was a member of the Boilermakers Union Local # 26. He is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly A. Criswell; daughter, Dorothy Haymans; grandson, Jimmy Criswell, Jr.; brothers, E.D. (Dean) Criswell and Margin Criswell; sisters, Mary McLeighton and Vernice Long.
He is survived by his sons, Oscar C. Jr. (Brenda), and Jimmy (Susie); grandchildren, Barry (Glenda), Amber Thomas (Rayford), Dana Williams (Dale); several great-grandchildren; brothers, Herschel and George Criswell; sisters, Leola Knight, Vera Jones, Weda Thompson and Bobbi Jean Lindsey and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that contributions be made to Bloomingdale First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 279, Bloomingdale, GA 31302 or to the American Diabetes Association, 5105 Paulsen St., Suite C236, Savannah, GA 31405.
