Pastor Betty F. Byrd

November 2, 1940-July 24, 2023

Pastor Betty Faye Byrd, 82, passed away peaceable July 24, 2023 after a recent hospitalization.  She was a good mother, faithful wife, close friend, loving person, and committed Christian. She spent most of her career life as a professional hair stylist, most recently as owner of Hair Express Savannah, Ga.

She was previously a member of Faulkville Baptist Church, where she became a committed Christian.  She sensed a call from God to start and shepherd a church.  Mother has spent more than a decade shepherding and caring for the community as pastor of "The Lord's House for All People." She loved deeply.  She will be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Arthur Gibbs Johnson & Mrs. Adelene (Johnson) Kelly.  Husband, Thomas B. Byrd, step-sons; Thomas (Bubba) and Michael Byrd.

Surviving are her children Reverend Dr. Grady (Arlene) Taylor, Vera Jane "Sissy" (Harold) Formby, and Gary Byrd, Richard Byrd. Grandchildren, Hannah (Timothy) Taylor Grimes, Abigail Taylor, Brad (Lee) Formby, Brian (Brittany) Formby, Josh (Monica) Formby,  All the Great and Great-Great-grand kids.  A brother, Terry (Sharon) Johnson. Several nephews and nieces.  Numerous others we love and call family.

Visitation: 6 -8 pm Monday, July 31, 2023 in the funeral home.

Funeral: 11 am Tuesday, August 1, 2023 in the funeral home chapel.

Interment: Gravel Hill Cemetery
