Mr. Patrick Joseph Morrissey, aka "Governor" or "Pat" of Beaufort, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Memorial Hospital.

Patrick was born in Maine to the late Janet Ruth Rollins Morrissey and Henry Patrick Morrissey.  He was also preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Bonnie, as well as a sister, Gail.  Patrick lived in Lewiston, Turner, Auburn, and Gardiner, Maine before moving to Beaufort.  He graduated from Edward Little High School in 1964 and then served four years in the United States Coast Guard.  He graduated from the Culinary Arts School in Chicago in 1969.  He had worked as a chef in Washington, DC, as an aide at the Pineland Hospital and Training Center in Powland, and then retired from L.L. Bean.  He was an Irish Catholic, and enjoyed traveling and boating with his wife.  He enjoyed building/remodeling his homes, collecting lighthouses and antiques from around the world.  He was a good cook, enjoyed watching Star Trek, as well as relaxing with his best friend, Lee Lajoie.

A service for Patrick will be held at Arlington Cemetery in Maine in the Spring.
