Waynesville, NC – Paulette Marlene Gripper Winnings, 75, passed away February 18, 2022 at home.

The West Virginia native was a former member of Goshen United Methodist Church and current member at Jonathan Valley Baptist Church, and had previously sang in the choir.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing.  She loved her God, church, and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Paul Gripper and Colleen Alfreda Tate Gripper; husband, James Henry Winnings; son, Paul Winnings; and brother, Edward Gripper.

Survivors include her children, Melissa Slaughter, Colleen Cutshaw (Keith), and James Bradley Winnings (Gena); 5 grandchildren, Brianna Slaughter, James Christopher Winnings, Devin Fizer, Ashley Fizer, and Jarin Fizer; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Cupp; brother, Paul Gripper; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
