Bloomingdale-Mrs. Pauline Larrimore Griffin, 88, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at home after a long illness.
Mrs. Griffin was employed by Union Camp Corporation in the Bag Plant for 44 years. In her post-retirement years, she cheerfully welcomed shoppers, as a part-time Greeter, at the Pooler Wal-Mart until health concerns forced her to resign in late 2010. This 60-year-plus Bloomingdale resident was an active and dedicated charter member of the Bloomingdale Westside Christian Church and a loyal hard working member of the Bloomingdale Lions Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Andy Lorace Griffin; brothers, James and J.C. Lowrimore; sisters, Ruby Maddox and Claudine McCullough.
Survivors include her devoted son and caregiver, Alton (Barbara) Griffin; daughter, Latrelle (Peter) Kling; grandchildren, Cindy (Corey) Farmer and Lee (Andrea) Griffin; five great-grandchildren, Carson and Colton Farmer, Eli Bell, Daisy and Sunny Griffin, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 W. Hwy. 80 in Pooler.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Westside Christian Church with Rev. Leonard Daugherty and Rev. James Jividen officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to Westside Christian Church, 1106 E. U.S. Hwy. 80, Bloomingdale, GA 31302.
