Pauline Gnann Seckinger
Springfield – Pauline Gnann Seckinger, 85, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Effingham Hospital.
The Effingham County native was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church. She graduated from Newberry College in South Carolina and then raised her six children. She then graduated from GA Southern College and taught at Springfield Elementary until retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, C. Bowers Gnann, Sr. and Althea Exley Gnann; husband, George A. Seckinger; and granddaughter, Katie Seckinger.
Survivors include her children, Bill (Marjorie) Seckinger; Charlie (Karen) Seckinger, Jimmy (Cindy) Seckinger, Susanne (Dale) Oglesby all of Springfield, Mary (Tim) Filipowski of Newnan, and Georgiana (David) Steese of Springfield; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, C. Bowers, Jr. (Helen) Gnann; brother-in-law, Earl (Carolyn) Seckinger; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Jerusalem Lutheran Church.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
