Mrs. Peggy Ann Smith McCoy, 71, of Pooler, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at her home under the care of Amedyis Hospice of Pooler, surrounded by her family.

Peggy was born on March 29, 1953 in Statesboro, Georgia.  She had lived in Savannah before moving to Jacksonville, Florida where she lived with her husband and children for 36 years before moving to Bloomingdale, Georgia in 2007.  She had previously worked in daycares cooking for the kids as well as a housewife.  She was a wonderful pastor's wife for 37 years, a great mother, and granny.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bloomingdale.  She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Anthony McCoy, her parents, Clinton and Pearl Smith, sisters, Ruth Reynolds and Janice Coppage, brother, William Smith, niece, Sherry Ross, nephew, Wesley Spivey, fathers-in-law, Jack O'Quinn and Dasmey McCoy; mother-in-law, Mary Louise McCoy, sister-in-laws, Suzanne O'Quinn and Dorothy Brown, as well as other family members that preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Steve McCoy; son, Scott McCoy (Jenee'); daughter, Tori McCoy; grandchildren, Savannah McCoy, Grayson McCoy, and Everly McCoy; sister, Beth Spivey (Gordon); step-mother-in-law, Ann O'Quinn; sisters-in-law, Margaret Shepherd, Myra Gaylord (Tom), and Becky Jiacopell (Danny); brother-in-law, Wayne O'Quinn (Lani), as well as other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The visitation will be on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral to honor Peggy's life will be on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor's Steve McCoy, Buddy Wasson, Doyle Harper, Jimmy Flanagan, Wallace Smith, and Jim Dutton participating.  The graveside funeral and burial will be on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Riverside Memorial Park located  at 7242 Normandy Blvd in Jacksonville, Florida.
