Perry Hampton Kessler, Jr.
Guyton - Perry Hampton Kessler,Jr., 88, died Friday, January 29, 2010 at Memorial Health.
The Effingham County native retired from Union Camp and was a farmer. He was an
active member of Bethesda United Methodist Church where he was instrumental in
founding the new church. He was a member of the Effingham County Farm Bureau
where he was a past board member, Cattlemen's Association, and past school board
member.
Survivors include his daughter, Frieda Kessler Ellis (Sonny) of Ridgeland, SC; son,
Marcus Kessler (Peggy) of Guyton; 4 grandchildren, Haley and Emily Ellis, Ashley and
Heather Kessler; sister, Doris Helvey of Port Wentworth; and a number of nieces and
nephews.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethesda United Methodist Church. Mr.
Kessler will lie in state from 10 a.m.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
