Savannah-Mr. Perry C. Moreland, Jr., 89, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2010 at St.
Joseph's Hospital.

Mr. Perry was born in Savannah to the late Perry C. Moreland, Sr. and Emma Moreland.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple in Savannah for fifty years as well as being
a member of the Rupert Horne Sunday School Class where he served as treasurer for
thirty-five years. He retired from Western Electric after forty years of service and was an
organizer of the Western Electric "Old-Timers". He served his country in the U.S.
Marines, loved to travel and spend time with his family. He was preceded in death by his
wife, Wadie Moreland.

Survivors include his children, Joyce M. (Ronald C. "Ed") Edwards, Perry C. (Denise M.)
Moreland, III and Sonia M. Hood; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren,
two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The visitation for Mr. Moreland will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel in Pooler.

The funeral to honor Mr. Moreland's life will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010 in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery on Wheaton Street with military honors.
