Ms. Phammie Chance Chaffin, 80, of Savannah, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Ms. Phammie was born in Sardis to the late Remer & Mary Chance. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dennis Allen Weatherly, and siblings, Mildred Parrish, Paul Chance, Sam Chance, Doretha Chance, Fred Chance, Grady Chance, Doris Goodlin, and Bobby Chance. She was a Christian and attended both Coastal Cathedral, and The Sanctuary. She enjoyed shopping, dining out, clothes, shoes, make-up, sewing, painting, and most any craft. She loved the company of others, kept everyone laughing with her larger than life personality, and her lessons learned in life.
Survivors include her daughters, Kim Weatherly Griffis and Lisa Weatherly Thomason; grandchildren, Sunshine Neidlinger, Melissa Felix, Jessica (Chris) Hagan, Matthew Thomason, Alexandra "Baby Girl" Thomason, Greg Weatherly, and Katie Weatherly; great-grandchildren, Dillon Neidlinger, Ivy Stooksbury, Cali Cress, Faith Felix, Hallie Mock, Jacob Felix, Zoey Hagan, and River Hagan; sister, Vicki (Russell) Lee, and other special people in her life, niece, Tootie Crooms, daughter-in-law, Daniela Weatherly, niece, Sam Baty-Wright, nephew, Paul Chance, niece, Cindy Chance Salter, adopted grandson, Bobby Edwards, sister-in-law, Pat Chance, life-long friend, Shirley Macalegal, life-long friend, Gloria Mullins, and cousin, Emory Lee, niece, Laura Chance Colbert, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral will be on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at 1:30 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church Cemetery in Sardis.
