Philip Randall Norris, 67, of Twin City, GA, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 at his home.
Philip was born in Colquit, GA to the late Rev. Joel Allen Norris and Beatrice Cobb Norris. He was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph Allen Norris, and siblings, J.A. Norris, Jr., Gerald Anderson, and Havin Anderson. He served his country in the U.S. Army, with two tours in Korea and Germany. He retired after 25 years from Local 474 Crane Operators Union. He was of the Church of God faith, was an avid junk and antiques picker. He loved to fish – all day, any day, and could outfish anybody. He enjoyed drinking black coffee, watching westerns, especially the Tales of Wells Fargo. He was a die hard republican, reading his history books and the Bible. He loved God and Jesus, his family and friends, and his grandson, Joseph, was his whole world.
Survivors include his children, Katie Lynn Norris (Tony), Philip Marshal Norris, and Sarah Norris; grandson, Joseph Randall Lamar Norris; siblings, Helen Johnson (Brian), Julie Stanley-Mack (Billy), Gloria Adams (Stan-deceased) and Ronald Norris (Ritsuko); a number of nieces and nephews, as well as his best friends, Gene Autry, Randy Wombel, and Larry McGill.
The visitation will be on Thursday, January 27 th from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. The graveside funeral and burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens located at 3357 Lanes Bridge Road in Jesup, GA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the funeral home to help offset expenses.
