Phillip Terry Cribbs passed away on October 5, 2026, in Clovis, California, leaving behind a legacy of service, devotion, and quiet strength.
Terry was drafted into the United States Army on March 20, 1969, serving honorably until March 19, 1975. His dedication to his country continued when he enlisted in the Army National Guard in Springfield, Georgia, serving with Battery A, 1st Battalion, 118th Field Artillery. Over the years, Terry became a respected leader known for his steady guidance and unwavering loyalty, ultimately retiring in December 1996 as an E8 First Sergent. Beyond his military service, Terry devoted 33 years to the Georgia Ports Authority, where he worked as a large-machine diesel mechanic. His skill, reliability, and work ethic made him a trusted and valued member of the Port Authority community.
Terry was preceded in death by William Green Cribbs, Marguritte Bishop Cribbs, Steven Cribbs, Diane Williams, and Teresa Romine.
He is survived by Margaret Rollins Cribbs, Wendy Cribbs Dunkley, Nick Dunkley, Aiden, Austin, and Audrey, who carry forward his legacy of strength, love, and dedication.
Viewing and Visitation will be held at Strickland’s Funeral Home in Rincon on Thursday October 15th, 2026, from 6-8pm.
Funeral services with military honors will be held at Strickland’s Funeral Home on Saturday October 17th, 2026, at 11:00 am, followed by interment at Rincon Cemetery.
The family welcomes all who wish to honor Terry’s life and service.
