Pooler-Mr. Phillip Wade West, 65, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Hospice Savannah.
Phillip was born in Savannah to the late Wade & Hazel West. He was the former owner/operator of Allstate Insurance in Pooler before retiring in 2011. He served his country in the Army Air National Guard, was a member of Ephesus Church in Rincon and attended Compassion Christian Church in Savannah. He was a former member of the Effingham Rotary Club and the first president of the Pooler Rotary Club. A graduate of Jenkins High School and attended Armstrong State College. He was a brother of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He served on the board for the YMCA in Pooler. He coached baseball and basketball at the Pooler Recreation Center.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Godwin West; son, Phillip Brandon West; daughter, Linsy Brooke West; brothers, Mark (Vivian) West, and Derek (Michelle) West; sister, Phyllis (Ricky) Buckley, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Memorial Health University Medical Center ICU & MSI units, Hospice Savannah, family and friends, especially, Harold Cronk, Gregg Hulme, and Chip Humphrey.
The visitation will be on Monday, June 5th from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The memorial service will be on Tuesday, June 6th at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Kenny Harrelson officiating.
