Phyllis Ackermann, 49, of Pooler, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, January, 6, 2024 at her home.

Phyllis was born in South Africa and was preceded in death by her father, George Smit.  She was employed at DJ Powers Shipping Company as an Ocean Export Specialist.  She was full of life and always had a sense of adventure.  She will be remembered by others for her beautiful smile, her sense of humor and for her love of life.  She was a genuine person and would give you the shirt off of her back.

Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Stephen Ackermann; mother, Phyllis Smit; sister, Mariana Marais; brother, Sybert Smit, as well as a number of nieces.

The visitation will be on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  The service to honor Phyllis' life will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
