Obituary
ELLABELL: Mrs. Phyllis Ann Hilton Miles-Malphrus, 75, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2011.
She was born in Montgomery County on March 22, 1936 to the late Harry M. Hilton and Willie Lou Hilton-West. Her former husband, Donald R. Miles, Sr. precedes her in death, and a brother, W. Colquitt Hilton.
Phyllis Ann graduated from Montgomery High School in 1956, where she was a Beta Club member. She graduated from Savannah Vocational School in Bookkeeping and Accounting. She worked for Lady Jane, Inc., as a Secretary and Controller for 17 years, Adler's as Vice President and Controller for 5 years, Senior Citizens as Controller and Vice President for 17 years. She retired from G.C. Fertilizer after 1 year. She attended the Methodist Churches.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Rudolph Malphrus of Ellabell; son, Donald R. Miles, Jr. (Rhonda) of Clermont, FL.; daughter, Linda M. Zittrouer (Ernie) of Rincon; daughter in law, Cindy M. Miles of Ellabell; brothers, Harry M. Hilton (Debby) of Midway and William C. West (Sharon) of Eden; stepsons, Mike Malphrus (Maureen) of Auburn, AL and Jason Malphrus (Kara) of Beaufort, SC; Aunt, Thelma Hilton (Rueben) of Grantville, SC; brother in law, George P. Miles (Althea) of Pooler; twelve grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her beautician and best friend, Fay Smith who she has known since 1991. She knows her life story.
Pallbearers: Greg Helmey, James F. Clark, Mike Malphrus, Patrick and Don Miles, III, Brendan Zittrouer. Junior Pallbearers: (Eagle Scouts) Erik and Ernie Zittrouer, III
Visitation will be Sunday, November 20, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
