Pooler-Ms. Phyllis Youngblood Simmons, 54, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Phyllis was born in Savannah and was preceded in death by her father, Joe Youngblood and her brother, Jerry Youngblood. She was a member of Sandhill Baptist Church and was employed with Quick Lock Storage Center in Pooler. She loved to cook and loved her animals.
Survivors include her children, Stephanie Brown, Elizabeth Woodard and her husband, William, and Daniel Simmons; friend, Mark Jarrell; grandchildren, William Brown, William Woodard, Jr., Cason Valenzuela, and Brittani Thurman; mother, Helen Youngblood; sisters, Joann Exley, Gladys Allen and Rachel McBrayer as well as several nieces and nephews.
The graveside funeral and burial of her ashes will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Woods Family Cemetery located on Sandhill Road.
