Quinton Wise

Rincon – Quinton Wise, 75, passed away October 23, 2018 at Westview Nursing Home.

Quinton was born January 11, 1943 to Oscar and Marie Wise. He grew up in Effingham County and graduated from Effingham County High School.

He married Barbara Quattlebaum on March 10, 1990 and at that time inherited a second family who loved him dearly. He was cherished and respected by all of us who were blessed to have him as our very own Papa.  He lived an exemplary life of hard work and honest living that set a sterling example for his family.

He had served in the National Guard and had retired from the Savannah Gas Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Rincon.  He was an outstanding athlete in high school and was inducted into the Effingham County Sports Hall of Fame.  His love of sports continued throughout his lifetime.

Quinton was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lois Garner; and brother, Lamar Wise.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Mallard Wise; sister, Jean Harris;  daughters, JoAnn Grafton and her husband Scott Grafton, Charlotte Quattlebaum, and Rose Marie Quattlebaum; grandchildren, Eddie Davis and wife Hope, Emily Lee, Leah Grafton, Charlie Grafton and his wife Alledria, Jamie Grafton, Cheyann Quattlebaum, and Caleb Quattlebaum; great-grandchildren, Baylee Seckinger, Sofia LeGrand, Catherine Lee, Adalyn Jones, and Emma Boyd.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday followed by funeral services at 3 p.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Rincon Cemetery.

Remembrances may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or American Diabetes Association.
