Mrs. Rachel Smith Carter, 92, of Pooler, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.

She was born in Madison, Florida to the late Harvey and Nora Huett Smith.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Carter, a daughter, Barbara Jean Fort and a son, James "Buddy" Futch.  She was a life-long Lutheran, a devout Christian, and a homemaker.

Survivors include her children, Dianne Speller, Curtis Futch, David Seckinger and Fred Seckinger; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Jake, Esther, Mary and Gloria, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Friday, August 21 ^st from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler.  All CDC and social distancing guidelines will be in place, including the mandatory wearing of masks (Chatham County Mandate).

The graveside funeral and burial will be on Saturday, August 22 ^nd at 11 a.m. at McCrimmon Cemetery located on Saw Mill Road in Montgomery County.
