Mrs. Rachel Sapp Royal, 95, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.
Rachel was born in Opelika, AL, was raised in Coffee County, GA, then resided in Chatham County, GA most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Walter Sapp and Willie Brantley Sapp, her husband, James Royal, her son-in-law, R.D. Kent, four sisters, as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law. She was a homemaker for many years, then worked with her two sons in the family business. She gave her life to Jesus Christ in 1947, and was a member of Living Faith Church of God since 1959.
Survivors include her children, James W. Royal, Sr., Gail R. Kent, and Ronald A. Royal (Nita); grandchildren, Jamie (Darla) Royal, Daniel Royal, Nicole Kent Parsons (Joel), Christopher (Becky) Kent, Matthew (Brandalyn) Hanna, Coby Royal, John Royal, Katie (Jason) Hodge, and Mark (Ashley) Tanner; great-grandchildren, Abby Bell Greifinger (Adam), Megan Bell Burns (Matthew), Morgan Bell, Aaron Royal, Josie Royal, Halle Hanna, Noah Tanner, and Riley Tanner; great-great-grandchildren, Isaac Bell, Asher Bell, Atlas Greifinger, Stewart Greifinger, and Scarlett Burns; sister, Mae Sapp McDaniel, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Station Exchange and Georgia Hospice Care for the love and compassion shown to Mrs. Rachel and her family.
The visitation will be on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The funeral to honor Rachel's life will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
