Ralph Douglas Brannen, 70, of Pembroke, GA passed away November 21, 2012 after an extended illness. He grew up in Bulloch County and lived in Savannah for many years before returning to Bulloch County in 2006. He is predeceased by his father, Allen Joseph Brannen, his mother, Ethel Futch Brannen, his step mother, Libby Brannen, a sister, Karen Denton, a brother, Edwin Allen "Joey" Brannen, and a daughter, Marisa Elizabeth Brannen. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Merle Hart Brannen, two sons Douglas Allen Brannen and Anthony "Tony" Maurice (Jami) Brannen of Garden City, and a daughter Jenna Victoria Brannen of Pembroke, brother, Allen Joseph (Cathy) Brannen, Jr. of Springfield, GA. Two sisters, Pam Wagner of Richmond Hill, GA and Brenda (David) Carter of Rincon, GA, two grandchildren, Taylor and Katelyn Brannen and several nieces and nephews. He retired after 30 years with Gulfstream Aerospace and was a fan of classic cars and auto racing. He was a member of Frank F. Baker Lodge of Garden City, the Scottish Rite, Alee Temple Shriners, and the First Baptist Church of Garden City.
The funeral to honor Mr. Brannen's life was held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Donald Combs officiating. Music was provided by Ms. Leigh Martin. Pallbearers were Terry Thompson, Patrick Clark, Adam Brannen, Trey Wagner, Todd Wagner and Travis Carter. Burial followed at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
