Ray Preston Kniphfer, 73, of Ellabell, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia after a long illness, with his two daughters and his sister by his side.
Ray was self-employed most of his adult life. When he was not working he was doing what he loved best, playing his guitar, singing, and writing songs. He was very gifted and could play any instrument that he came across. He also enjoyed the outdoors, wood working, black smithing, and fishing.
Ray was born on June 14, 1951 to the late Luther Kniphfer and Margie Burnsed Graham. He was also preceded in death by his 4-ever dad, Lemuel Graham; grandparents, Joseph and Belvey Burnsed, as well as a sister, Donna Stille.
He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Clay Kniphfer and Racheal Kniphfer; three sons, James Ray Kniphfer, Jacob Anderson, and Ashley White; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Tonia Morris, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, whom all loved him dearly and will miss him always.
The visitation will be on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Ray's life will be on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Lower Black Creek Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Ashley White, Jacob Anderson, Brandon Jenkins, Brooks Brown, Brooks Brown, Jr., and Kevin Guy.
