IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Raymond "Tommy"
Peeples, Jr.
March 4, 2024
Mr. Raymond "Tommy" Peeples, Jr, 79, passed away on March 4th peacefully at home. He had been under the care of Hospice Savannah and the family thanks all of the wonderful nurses, CNAs and staff who cared for Tommy. He was the son of the late Raymond Peeples, Sr and Helen Reddick. He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Gerri Ann (Kris) Robbins, granddaughter Berkeley, his son, Raymond "Bubba" Peeples, III (Michelle), grandson, Patrick and granddaughters, Carmela, Sophia, and Amelia. Although Tommy was born in North Carolina, he was raised in Savannah. He was a graduate of Groves High School and pursued a career of helping others throughout his many roles and hobbies. Tommy lived a rich life and worked hard at each any every role that God placed him into. After his time serving his country in the US Navy, he was a Railroad Engineer, a business owner with his brother and then later with his wife, a horticulturalist and outside services expert for both Lowes and Home Depot, and even had what he considered his dream role as an equipment demonstrator with JCB in Savannah which allowed him to see the world and show off his skills with heavy equipment. No matter the role, he did it all with a smile on his face and a laugh that could be heard anywhere. He was a deacon in the Baptist church, a member of the former Epworth United Methodist church and attended Marlowe United Methodist Church. Tommy loved working with his hands, listening to the music of Elvis Presley, Frankie Valli, and Michael Bublé, driving his beloved red Ford pickup, painting landscapes and wildlife, taking care of more animals than can be counted, spending time in Ormond Beach with his wife until her passing, and talking with family, friends, and anyone he encountered. He leaves behind multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family, and friends whom he loved and influenced. His family rejoices as he is with his Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ. There will be a private burial and graveside service for family and close friends on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Hillcrest Abbey West. Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Homes – WEST CHATHAM CHAPEL (912) 748-2444
