Rincon – Raymond Alfred Tallent, Jr., 79, passed away June 12, 2023 at Effingham Extended Care Center.

The Tennessee native served in the U.S. Army and retired from Norfolk Southern.  He was a member of Springfield Oaks Church and the Maturing Disciples Sunday School Class.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Alfred Tallent, Sr. and Linnis Opal Cooper Tallent; and brother, Ronnie Tallent.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Tallent; sons, Chip Tallent (Shelley) and Joe Tallent; grandchildren, Maddie Tallent, Emmie Tallent, Rahne Tallent, and Ridley Tallent; great-grandson, Chandler Eason; brother, Jeff Tallent (Cindy); sister, Sandra Sterling (Clarence); and several nieces and nephews.
