Reggie moved on to his heavenly reward on Friday, July 22. He was born in Savannah on December 31, 1960 to Bobby and Jannette Miller. He fought a valiant fight against a variety of health issues for many years. He overcame so many medical situations that the Savannah medical community nicknamed him "The Miracle Man". He was a 1979 graduate of Tompkins High School. He played football and was proud to be a wolverine. He enjoyed his school years and all the amazing friends he made during that time. He went to work for Miller Painting full-time after graduation for many years. He worked part-time as a bouncer at one of Savannah's local establishments for a few years. He started his own company, Miller Protective Coatings, around 2003. He worked with many of the local industrial companies and added more great friends along the way.
He attended Alpha Methodist Church where he served on the Trustees and Finance Committees. He became a vital addition to the Alpha family. Reggie enjoyed life and accomplished so much over the years when his health allowed. He moved to Effingham County in 1991. He was a volunteer First Responder and coached his daughters in rec softball and basketball for many years. He raced at Oglethorpe Speedway for many years where he made many more friends (and had a few fights). He loved NHRA racing and attended the Gator Nationals many years. He was a solid Earnhardt fan for many years going to the races for many years (until NASCAR became too political). He loved classic cars and would go to the Turkey Rod Runs and local car shows. He truly enjoyed his years as a Mustang Booster Dad working with the football and wrestling teams. He attended many of the grandchildren's tee-ball and basketball events when he could. He loved traveling, fine dining, and premium margaritas.
He was preceded in death by his Daddy, Bobby (2013), and his Mama, Jannette (2020). He is survived by his wife, Julie; his children, Lynsie (Jason) Steed of Guyton, Rachel (Ben) Mammina of Savannah, Paige Miller (Michael) of Savannah and Justin Copeland (Erica, fiance') of Fort Walton Beach. He leaves his brother, Craig (Ann) Miller of Savannah, and his special brother (of another Mother), LB (Kathy) Davis of Bloomingdale. Reggie was Papa to Dehlani and Harper Copeland and Paisley and Parson Steed. He leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and Aunts. He will be deeply missed by all who had the chance to get to know him. He taught us that we should love life and enjoy every day. He kept a positive attitude through his struggles and encouraged everyone to do the same. He was a great storyteller and loved people. He cherished his family and friends.
We would like to thank the following doctors who assisted Reggie throughout his years: Dr. Julio Cortes, Dr. Randy Bottner, Dr. Mark Nyce, Dr. Ronald Goldberg, and Dr. Dale Daly. We also thank all those compassionate medical professionals who were so dedicated to Reggie's care at Memorial Hospital.
The visitation will be on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 2 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home followed by the service to celebrate Reggie's life at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to Alpha United Methodist Church, 5 East Hwy 80, Bloomingdale, GA 31302.
