Port Wentworth-Mrs. Regina Bacon Exley, 87, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at
Hospice Savannah.

Mrs. Exley was born in Pembroke to the late Lawton and Nellie Lanier Bacon. She
retired from the Chatham County Board of Education Transportation Department. She
was a member of the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church, the U.M.W. and the
Oscar Bell Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in
death by her husband, Elbert S. Exley, sister, Evelyn Bacon Skinner and brothers,
Woodrow, Marion and Billy Bacon.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles & Hazel Exley of Pooler;
daughter and son-in-law, Joyce & Don Smith of Port Wentworth; granddaughters, Valerie
& Wesley Brown and Amanda & Matthew Arnold, both of Richmond Hill; grandsons,
Keith & Tanya Smith of Richmond Hill and Michael Smith of Port Wentworth;
great-grandchildren, Logan, MaKayla and Isabella Brown, Mariah Arnold and Lauren
Smith; sister-in-law, Norma Exley of Springfield and numerous nieces and nephews.

The visitation for Mrs. Exley will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the
Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel in Pooler.

The funeral to honor Mrs. Exley's life will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the
Port Wentworth United Methodist Church. Rev. Madison Morgan, Rev. Tom Edwards
and Rev. Grable Page will officiate. Mrs. Betty Usher and Mr. Ernie Stanhope will
provide the music. Active pallbearers will be Randy Hall, Jack DeLoach, Wesley Brown,
Logan Brown, Keith Smith, Michael Smith, Matt Arnold and Kenny Dumas. Honorary
pallbearers will be members of the Oscar Bell Sunday School Class. Entombment will
follow at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery on Wheaton Street in Savannah.

Remembrances may be given to the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church, 201
Turnberry Street, Port Wentworth, GA 31407.
