Guyton – Remer Henry Jones, 92, passed away October 3, 2024 at his residence.

The Tattnall County native retired from Union Camp, was a longtime member of South Newington Baptist Church where he had previously served as chairman of the deacons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ottis Jones and Ronella Williams Jones; siblings, Oleta, Irma, Norine, Richard, and Hubert.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Gladys Owens Jones; children, Mitchell Jones, Mark Jones (Carolyn), and Angie Jones Marsh; grandchildren, Misty Stenmark (Sean), Michael Jones (Danielle), Shannon Jones, and Jeremy Jones (Amanda); great-grandchildren, Kiley, Grayson, McKenzie, Ava, Landon, Jordan, Landon, Lollie, Layla, Christopher, and Haley; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2024 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in Springfield Cemetery Annex.
