Pooler-Mr. Richard "Ricky" Boatright, 66, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Ricky was born in Savannah to the late Elton "Pete" & Pearl Boatright. He was a member of South Newington Baptist Church and retired from Vopak. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a mentor to many young boys. He also enjoyed going to auctions.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Ginger Boatright; children, Shann Robinson, Richard Boatright, Kim & Richard Melton; grandchildren, Taylor & James Turner, Kayla Robinson, and Kyle Robinson; a great-granddaughter on the way, Brayleigh Mae Turner; sisters, June McGowan, Debbie & Bubba Vause; brothers, Paul & Beverly Boatright, James & Mary Boatright; special aunt, Essie Boatright; several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2015 in the chapel of the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Ricky's life will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Steve McCoy officiating and the pallbearers will be Billy rogers, Chris Rogers, Josh McGowan, Danny Ray Roberson, Ken Morgan, Keith Roberson, Freddie Denkenberger, Michael Hurt, Mikey Hurt and Mark Stafford. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
