Obituary
Savannah-Mr. Richard Ernest Carter, 63, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2012 at Spanish Oaks Retreat.
Richard was a native of Savannah, attended Groves High School in Garden City, and graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Engineering. Richard was also the President of D.J. Powers Company for 36 years.
He was the son of the late Anne Tillery Carter and William Ernest Carter of Savannah and is survived by wife Jeanne Clark Carter; daughters, Laura Carter and Lee Carter Dye; sons, Rick Lee and Chuck Lee; sister, Ann "Twink" Carter Jennings; brother-in-law, Jerry Clark; 8 grandchildren and 2 nephews, Jeff Jennings and Jay Clark.
The visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 5 at the funeral home with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Bob Rogers of First Baptist Church of Rincon officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Jerry Clark and Jay Clark officiating.
