Richard Kelly 'Twisted' Hardiman
Richard Kelly Hardiman of Metter, Georgia passed away on Saturday May 18, 2024 in Effingham county at the age of 54 years old. A terrible biking misfortune fell on him as he was starting his usual morning ride with his biker family, he did not suffer and he always talked about dying doing what he loved. He was a loving, supportive and dedicated father, husband, son, brother and friend.
Richard was born in Miami, Florida on June 23, 1969 and spent most of his life there until he moved to Metter, Georgia with his wife, daughter and parents in 2003. Richard was a truck driver for the majority of his professional career and he was the absolute best at what he did. In his personal time, he loved to ride his motorcycle and help others. He was the Sergeant in Arms, previously the Public Relations Officer, for the Chosen Soldiers Motorcycle Association and organized many rides, donations and events. He was a truly great man with a big, caring heart; anyone who met him was blessed to do so. Richard was also a published poet, renaissance man, talented cook and people person; He knew so much about various topics. He enjoyed music, learning, fishing, biking, camping, movies and he loved his family more than words can say.
In the biking community Richard was known as 'Twisted', which was a nickname that originated during his time in Florida during his younger years but will forever hold relevance with him. He was loved and adored by dozens of people across the southeast of Georgia and he always tried to be a positive influence on anyone he met. He always lent a helping hand to anyone in need, he cared so much about helping others. Behind this large, intimidating man was one of the kindest and most caring hearts anyone could ever have the pleasure of encountering. He loved to make people laugh and smile every chance he could. He will be greatly missed and loved by all of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Richard was the youngest of 4 children from John and Katie Hardiman. Survivors include his daughter, Casey Hardiman; his wife, Cheryl Hardiman; his mother Katie Nell Hardiman; his brother William Hardiman and his sister Cynthia Bridge. He was preceded in death by his father, John Herbert Hardiman.
A service and celebration of his life will be held on Sunday May 26, 2024 at the VFW Post 660 in Chatham County, Georgia at around 2-2:30 p.m.
Anyone wishing to make monetary donations in his memory can make donations to the Chosen Soldiers Motorcycle Association or at the VFW Post 660 in Chatham County; all of these donations will go towards important and meaningful causes that will aid many people in the southeast of Georgia.
