Rincon – Richard Ambrose Mascarenhas, 61, passed away September 29, 2023 after a long illness.

Born in Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa on December 7, 1961 to the late Graca Felix Mascarenhas and Esmeralda Alfonso Mascarenhas.   He moved to England when he was 5 years old and then to the United States in 1995.  He was employed with Gulfstream for 18 years, was an avid runner participating in numerous 5k and always getting his 10,000 steps each day.  He was an avid hot tea drinker having "tea time" every day at 4 p.m.

He is survived by  his wife of 29 years, Janet Pippin Mascarenhas; children, Chad Daniel Mascarenhas, Melissa Jayne Mascarenhas (Lee Jacobs), Anika Lauren Mascarenhas (Jas Sandhu), and Kaitlyn Danielle Mascarenhas; grandchildren, Marley Mascarenhas, Mia Jacobs, and 1 on the way; siblings, Mark Mascarenhas (Mandy), Lydia Mascarenhas, Judy M. Warner (John), Ivan Mascarenhas (Tracy), and Oliver Mascarenhas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2023 with a visitation following until 6 p.m. at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel, 2460 Hwy. 21 S., Rincon, GA 31326.
