Richard Scott Morris, Sr.
Rincon – Richard Scott Morris, Sr., 68, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014.
The North Carolina native was a member and deacon at Oak Grove Church of Christ. He retired from the 165th GA Air National Guard after 20 years, Gulfstream after 20 years, and drove a bus for Effingham County Board of Education for 9 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph Morris and Reba Taylor Morris; and sister, Aileen Morris.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Perry Morris; children, Richard Scott Morris, Jr. "Scotty" (Brenda), Lorie Ann Mingledorff (Joey), Amy Diane Bayles (Jason), and Joseph Samuel Morris "Jody" (Katherine); grandchildren, Paisley Binkley (Joshua), Richard S. Morris, III "Trey", William Tyler Mingledorff, Hastin Morris, Chloe and Carson Bayles, Gracie Joyner, and Jonah Morris; siblings, Billy Morris, Wright Morris, Barbara Bell, Nancy Lovett, and Jimmy Morris; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel.
Interment will be in Rincon Cemetery.
Remembrances may be given to Oak Grove Church of Christ, 306 E. 4th Street, Rincon, GA 31326.
