Mr. Richard Michael "Rick" Fields, 64, of Garden City, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.

Rick was born in Savannah and was predeceased by grandparents, Evan and Ida Priscilla Courson and John and Maggie Fields.  He was a barber by trade who founded Simplicity Salons in 1980 with locations in Garden City, Pooler and Rincon.  His staff and customers became family.  Rick was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth.

Survivors include his parents, Robert Cecil and Christine Fields; brothers, Robbie C. Fields, Jr. (Patti) and Randy Fields (Geri); nieces and nephews, Allen Kent (Lynn), Michelle Liakakis (Toney), Ellis Wright (Su), Erica Ross (John), Chanse Fields (Kristian), Amanda Swenson (Darien), J. Ross Allen IV, R. Alexander Allen, and R. Michael Fields.

The visitation will be on Saturday, August 28th from 1 until 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth located at 402 Pinehurst Place.  The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
