Richard L. "Ricky" Blankenship
Springfield – Richard L. "Ricky" Blankenship, 66, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 at Candler Hospital.
The South Carolina native was a member of Elam-Egypt Baptist Church where he held several positions in the church including Sunday School Superintendent for 20 years. He was a retired truck driver with Sentinel Transportation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Travis Edward Blankenship and Betty Jean Donahue Morris; and brother, Mike Blankenship.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Dickerson Blankenship; children, Christy Dixon (Dwayne), Richard L. Blankenship, Jr. (Christy), Travis Blankenship, Michelle Asher (Zachary), and Terry Blankenship (Tiffany); sister, Linda Langford (Floyd); 13 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Elam-Egypt Baptist Church.
Interment will follow in Elam-Egypt Baptist Church Cemetery.
