Rincon- Richard A. Stansfield, 89, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at home.

The Paterson, NJ native grew up in Haledon, NJ and lived in Fredon, NJ for many years. Richard was a businessman/entrepreneur that exhibited his talents in many ways, including having two patents. He lived in Marathon, FL for 5 years before moving to Hilton Head and meeting his wife, Linda. They were married and lived in Effingham County for over 20 years. Richard had a sense of humor and a desire to learn new things. His curiosity led him to many endeavors.

Richard was preceded in death by his son, David Stansfield; and brothers, John and Henry Stansfield.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Snooks Stansfield; daughter, Karen Kosa (Brian); step-daughter, Cheryl Geary (Bob); grandchildren, Kyle Kosa, Simone McAndrew (Tim), Mitchell Kosa; step-grandchildren, Wesley Christain (Ansley), Jessica Javo (Gary), Bryan Christain (Morrin), Michael Christain (Mary-Michael); 2 great-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Lorraine Nash.

Visitation: 3-4 pm Monday, February 26, 2024 at Springfield Oaks Church.

Funeral: 4 pm Monday, February 26, 2024 at Springfield Oaks Church.

Interment: Springfield Cemetery Annex
