Richard Karl Strauss (1955 - 2024)

Richard Karl Strauss, age 68, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, after succumbing to a lung infection. He was born on October 13, 1955, in Weinheim, Germany, to Richard Strauss and Eleanor Beuchert.

Richard was a strong and ambitious man who came to America in 1975 after serving three years in the German military. Starting at the bottom, he worked tirelessly to achieve the American dream. He became a master electrician specializing in HVAC and founded a successful contracting business, R&K Contractors, into which he poured his heart and soul. Richard had lifelong customers whom he genuinely cared for.

He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of nine years, Alisa Strauss. He also leaves behind two daughters, Nicole Kemp and Gisele (Gigi) Davis. Richard was a proud grandfather to five granddaughters: Sarah Kemp, Mavity Davis, Marissa Kemp, Mataya Kemp, and Hadlee Davis, and his only grandson, Richard Connor Davis. He is also survived by his parents, Richard and Ursula Strauss, and his sister, Sabrina Strauss.

Richard was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel, 2460 Hwy. 21 S., Rincon, GA 31326 with funeral services following at 4 p.m. in the chapel.
